In my opinion there are many more important areas to consider such as weight, seat height, engine capacity etc when choosing your adventure bike, being air cooled or watercooled shouldn't really be considered a showstopper.

Some people feel there aren't enough smaller motorcycles, training is too expensive, or that the industry doesn't make motorcycling appealing enough to possible young riders, entry level riders or women riders. OK so going fast on a enduro bike needs a bit of skill, but let's not over egg the pudding - modern dirt bikes are really easy to use off-road.

When your road suddenly turns to muddy ruts it's often enough to make some riders turn around and head back the other way.
